Diana Vreeland is for me the best editor-in-chief ever. She was eccentric and progressive and thus a great source of inspiration. Her documentary The Eye has to Travel was amazing and these two books are also a treat.

In Memos, De Vogue jaren, Diana Vreeland, you see the letters that were typed back and forth during the creation of Vogue, sharp of pen she dictated what she wanted to see and whether she asked why certain things didn't turn out as agreed but of course also compliments back and forth. All of this is a conversation between the great fashion icons of that time. Really amazing to read that.

Diana Vreeland, The Eye Has To Travel, starts at Harpers Bazaar in 1936 and stays there until 1962. She created a revolutionary magazine that was already so modern, so daring at the time. She played with covers, magazines today can still learn a lot from that. She was so creative! When she became editor-in-chief at Vogue USA in 1962, she took it to another level. Larger than life became her mission, it was art, travel, and fashion all at a very high level. These books are indispensable for the true fashion lover.
