BURBERRY MAKE ME FAMOUS
Burberry revealed today the campaign images of their SS14 collection and that is always a moment to look forward to. Not only because we can already look forward to the sunnier times that are surely coming with the pictures shot by Mario Testino, but especially also because of the new generation of models because my oh my, that is something again.
Because if you are not already fully hip and happening you will become that naturally if you appear in the Burberry ads. The campaigns are known as a perfect gauge for who and what is hot in the UK. From Emma Watson, Cara Delevingne, and Jourdan Dunn to Romeo Beckham, all examples of types selected by creative director Christopher Bailey whose popularity seems to know no bounds after their appearance for Burberry. So which British promises are there to admire this season?
Malaika Firth and Jamie Campbell Bower are among the new faces replacing Sienna Miller and her husband Tom Sturridge after their leading role in last winter's campaign. The career of 18-year-old Malaika experienced a huge growth spurt last year when she was asked to be the new face of Prada. Their first dark model since 1994. Not long after, she also received an invitation to walk in the Victoria’s Secret show in November.
Actor Jamie Campbell Bower (25) had roles in Harry Potter and Sweeney Todd, but really stood out due to his role in the Twilight-series and his tumultuous love life. He was engaged to Harry Potter-co-star Bonnie Wright and was linked to Lily Collins.
Oh yes, we would almost forget what it’s all about; fashion. The English Rose collection, which was shown to the public during the last London Fashion Week, features finely woven cashmere and sheer lace in pastel and powder tones. Additionally, there is a broad use of ultimate Burberry classics; the trench coat and the Burberry check. The latter can be seen in various models of handbags executed in black, red, and brown.
