There are days when I stand in front of my closet and I really have nothing at all. Nothing. NOTHING. Unlike our Carolien. She wonders what she should wear instead. She has so much. Too much.
My jaw dropped when I entered her bedroom. Such a beautiful large wardrobe I had never seen before. Okay, I admit, that was before I watched the video with Winonah de Jong, but still. But still.
The stacked pharmacy cabinet turned out to be just part one. In every (every, EVERY) room of her house, there is a cabinet slash rack with clothes.
Carolien opens a drawer here and there. “Look, here are all my pants.” I count twenty. “And here in this cabinet are the shoeboxes with my overknee boots,” she continues. I see eight (eight, EIGHT) boxes. ‘Oh, and this is another drawer with all my leather gloves.’ I didn’t know what I was seeing.
Top right: A small selection from Carolien's clutch collection. These are all from Frenchonista. A label for which Carolien also models. A matching bag for every occasion, I love that. I know who I’m going to call if my outfit needs one more touch.
Bottom right: “These black boots are one of my newest acquisitions. Delightfully warm for winter. I bought them at my favorite store Style in Maastricht. You can also see my Isabel Marant look-alikes. They are from Fab. Just as beautiful and much cheaper.”
I see many complete sets hanging. Carolien loves that. Nice skirts with tailored jackets or silk trouser suits. Tiger of Sweden, Won Hundred, Malene Birger, and Ready to Fish, it’s all très Carolien.
