HOW TO: JACKIE O. MAKE-UP
Our Jackie (she already feels like a good friend) was also très stylish in the makeup department. Always subtle, always well-groomed, never too extravagant, and consistently just very pretty. Well, I want that too. Together with Gigi Bowmer from Estée Lauder, I spent a morning in makeup, and experienced how to create such a Jackie look for yourself.
1. Foundation, Double Wear Light (color: 03)
It all starts with a good foundation. This Double Wear spreads easily and feels subtle on the skin. Tip from Gigi; mix a drop of the Advanced Night Repair Serum into the foundation for an extra beautiful no-makeup result and a well-rested look.
2. Concealer, Double Wear (color: 02)
With a concealer, you conceal the imperfections of your skin. Extra nice, if you mix a bit of eye cream into the concealer, you get a beautiful soft glow.
3. Powder makeup, Double Wear (color: Sand 16)
Many women apply their powder with a sweeping motion, but this way you apply too much powder, making you look older. We definitely don't want that. What to do: put a little powder on your brush, and apply it with a rolling motion from the nose, chin, and forehead to the outside. Never apply powder under your eyes! This will again make you look older than you are, and that's really unnecessary.
4. Blush (color: 08 peach passion)
Besides on the cheeks, also a bit on the side of your forehead, tip of your nose, and tip of your chin. Adds depth.
5. Brow pencil (color: no 01 Soft Brown)
Define the eyebrows for a more expressive look. You will be surprised how different you look when your eyebrows are nicely colored.
6. Eyeliner, Double Wear Eye Pencil (color: Coffee 02)
Apply the eyeliner to the top of the eye, on the waterline. This gives fuller lashes with a seductive effect.
7. Eyeshadow, Pure Color Duo (color: Cobblestones)
After you have drawn the line with the eyeliner, apply some eyeshadow over it. This fixes the line so that it stays longer and better, so don't forget.
8. Eyeliner Double Wear Zero Smudge Liquid (Color: 02 brown)
If you find it difficult to draw a thin line, make it easier for yourself by first drawing a very thin line. If you then go a bit outside the lines, you can just make it a little wider. Always keep a cotton swab nearby for any mistakes.
9. Lash primer plus
Apply this primer before you put on your regular mascara. The primer ensures fuller lashes, with double length and volume.
10. Sumptuous Mascara
First, apply the mascara to the top of your upper lashes, and then to the underside of your upper lashes. Start well at the base of your lashes, and then work in a zigzag motion towards the tips. Press them well, and this sets the curl.
11. Lip pencil Double Wear (Color: 03 tawny)
With the pencil, you color your lips for an optimal long-lasting effect.
12. Lipstick Pure Color (Color: Hot Coralline.)
With the lipstick, you color your lips, and by using the pencil as a base color, you get an extra beautiful and deep effect.
And then, tada! Your Jackie look is ready. Not too much, not too extravagant, and just very beautiful. When I got home last night, I decided that this Jackie look couldn't just sit on the couch. I have makeup! I need to go out! And there I was, on a Monday night, being a bit fancy in a restaurant. Jackie O would have been proud of me.
