ISABEL, STEP ASIDE

Lately it's Isabel Marant high and Isabel Marant low, as the day her H&M collection hits the stores is rapidly approaching. Here in the editorial office, we are absolutely in love with Isabel, so you won't hear us complain, but we do think the spotlight could be shared a bit more. Because, did you know that Isabel is married to a really nice man named Jérôme Dreyfuss (pronounced drai-foes)? Jérôme and Isabel are quite the power couple, as he, like her, is a successful fashion designer. He debuted in 1998 with a women's fashion collection when he was only 23 years old, mind you. That collection earned him prestigious awards (such as the 1998 Andam Award for Fashion), and the chance to design costumes for Michael Jackson just a year after his design debut. In 2002, Dreyfuss made the switch to women's bags and accessories, and his casual yet elegant bags became a hit among young trendy Parisiennes. Nowadays, you can recognize his work by that same nonchalance, in bags of ample size, featuring quirky details. Think of a small flashlight that allows you to dig for your keys more purposefully in dark situations. Should Isabel and Jérôme ever feel an overwhelming need to adopt a 25-year-old, I would be more than happy to volunteer.
