Maria Kooistra. Always beautiful, always stylish and always just a little different than you expect.
We were incredibly curious and put her through our beauty detector.
Beauty confessions
I find it very important that my beauty products are exclusive and have a story. I don't like mass production. I am a big fan of Yentl oil (Argan oil). A wonderful product with a delightful scent made by Berber women in Morocco.
Red carpet essential
Floor Mulder from B academy makes sure my hair looks top-notch. I have quite a mane that sometimes really needs some attention. I also always have my makeup done by a makeup artist. It's wonderful to hand everything over to professionals.
Eyebrows or lashes
Absolutely, my eyebrows are the most important. In New York, I always have them done by Elke von Freudenberg. The best there is. Now I'm still looking for a perfect Elke in Amsterdam.
Morning ritual
I am completely in love with Laura Mercier's makeup. Foundation, blush, mascara. Really, there are quite a few layers on my face.
Unexpected beauty tool
Eyeshadow on my cheek. My blush ran out once and I really can't leave the house without blush. So my emergency solution was eyeshadow. and guess what, It works!
Favorite perfume
I love rich, luxurious scents, but unfortunately, they don't suit me, so I stick to light, cheerful scents. My favorite is Philosykos. The fig scent from Dyptique.
Never leave home without
My bracelets. More is more. Have you seen all my beautiful collection ?
Nice beauty purchase
I always make myself incredibly happy with scented candles from Diptyque.
Don't tell anyone but…
I would love to be a lady. With ‘done hair’ and a well-groomed wardrobe and pearls in my ears. But I will always remain a girly girl with tousled hair and glue on my fingers and scratches on my legs.
