Harriet Calo aka the Dutch Diane Vreeland aka my magazine mom. Both in appearance and character, Harriet is the most elegant woman I know (jointly with my real mom, of course). Harriet taught me that shopping is work. And that I should invest in a few bags (noted) and that an editor-in-chief must travel first class and should not sleep in a cheap hotel. That shopping is better than sex (and the pleasure lasts longer). And that you really shouldn't be running. And that it's perfectly fine to buy that pair of Marc Jacobs shoes. Dearest Calo, I have listened to you and learned from you. On Tuesday, Harriet is retiring but I will continue to hear and see her and she will keep inspiring. Always.

Today she is wearing pants from MarcCain, a top from Alexander Wang, comfy cool ankle boots from Bally and a furry friend from Dolce & Gabbana. She bought the brooch at the Hague Municipal Museum.
