IT ADDRESSES OF FASHION PEOPLE

One of the privileges of a fashion editor is the trips you take professionally to trendy fashion cities to attend shows or to travel to exotic places to photograph fashion productions. When I made my professional entrance into the world of fashion long ago, I was amazed to keep encountering people from the (fashion) industry in totally different places around the world. During a shoot in Marrakech, it turned out that American Harpers Bazaar was staying in the same hotel, in Miami the pool of the Delano was filled with models, at the shows in Milan models, editors, and photographers meet each other in the lobby of the Four Seasons for a drink, and in Paris, we all seem to have reserved at the latest culinary hotspot.

“The fact is that the FASHION PERSON feels extremely comfortable and at home among peers.”

In short, in all cases, fashion people seem to travel the same circuit. This often happens outside of work as well. The fact is that the fashion person feels extremely comfortable and at home among peers.

This obviously means that you, as a traveling follower of fashion, are optimally informed. I myself am addicted to (one of the few magazines I still buy monthly) Condé Nast Traveller (information online www.concierge.com) and of course, I standardly consult www.mrandmrssmith.com. Here you will find destinations that meet our fashionable responsible (spoiled) demands for luxury, comfort, and responsible design with a selection of stylish boutique hotels and hip holiday houses. In short, everything you need for the perfect getaway.

From the list Smith’s choices 2013, I can personally confirm that Alila-Uluwatu in Bali stunning is, that the spa in Como Shambhala the best spa ever is and that I am going to book for the upcoming Christmas the sexiest bedroom in Blakes in London. I would like to add to the list the best hotel lobby where the Conservatorium Hotel in Amsterdam wins hands down.
