THIS IS HOW IT CAN BE
As a beauty editor, you would say that I can handle a little makeup and a brush. Partially true, but to say that I am an artist: no, not in the slightest. Actually, I prefer to go through life as naturally as possible. That masterclass from Tom Sebastian and Make-Up Studio for a festive look came in quite handy.
- Step 1 of the masterclass; shaping. Getting started with dark and light creams to create shadows on the face. Where I started with a natural base, thinking I would start modestly, I spotted people next to me with intense dark lines on their faces. Quite a shock for me. But according to Tom, it was ‘beautiful by candlelight’. So I decided to add a few extra strokes because beautiful by candlelight, that's what I want too.
- Step 2; the metallic look. Silver glitter, black smoky, and a line of cobalt blue. Not the most accessible colors for a beginner like me. But hey, I didn't let that discourage me, sitting next to all the experienced beauties. After a bit of blending, sweeping, and a wink from Tom, it just worked out. Quite well, if I may say so myself. Within ten minutes, my natural look was transformed into a wintry vamp. That look is really beautiful. Intense colors, glitter to the max, but you can make it as intense as you want.
My proud feeling from this achievement turned into discomfort when I walked outside. Aiii, daylight. I had really chosen a candlelight look. Fortunately, I accidentally ran into our Liesbeth who immediately exclaimed, “Your eyes. So beautiful, Tom did a great job.” Well Lies, I did that myself. Myself. And I am proud! Now off to home, candles on, and glowing while looking at that little light. Or no, that's a waste. I'm going to dance until dawn, because this look needs to be shared.
