trend: PLAYER SHIRTS

Pay homage to your favorite designer with a shirt from LPD New York. Names like McQueen, Margiela, and Slimane adorn the back of these American football-inspired shirts, and the birth year of the respective designer is used as the jersey number. This way, you can show that you are a fan of a designer without immediately spending your entire monthly salary.

“And I believe that everyone should be able to show their LOVE for a DESIGNER in an affordable and direct way.”

The owner of the brand, Benjamin Fainlight, is only 22 himself, so he understands better than anyone that not everyone has money for designer clothing. “As a student, you can't buy a jacket for 3000 dollars, which everyone can see is from Rick Owens because they've seen it on the runway,” he explains. “And I believe that everyone should be able to show their love for a designer in an affordable and direct way.”

The shirts from Benjamin's ‘Dream Team collection’ were an instant hit; within one day, the first batch was already sold out through his home-garden-and-kitchen Tumblr site. They are now sold at Net a Porter and there are also sweaters available. By the way, the shirts are not exactly cheap (€ 85) but still too cool for school. Jetteke already gave in for the white Philo shirt… Which team are you on?
