6 REASONS WHY WE ARE BEYOND EXCITED ABOUT NEW YORK
Not a single hour goes by without someone here in the editorial office exclaiming how excited they are about New York, myself included. In the coming days, I will spend every free hour on a thorough preparation because exactly one week from now we will be boarding the plane. Right now, it's pleasantly below zero in New York and just last week the city was terrorized by a snowstorm, so in that regard, it's not very desirable. But oh well, who cares about that, so without further ado, here are the 6 things we are most looking forward to:
- Seeing Olivia Palermo and Johannes Huebl in real life. And maybe even touching them. Just for a moment. And then asking if they want to adopt me. But if that’s not possible, then just seeing them, whether from a distance or not.
- Watching all those rich New York socialites struggle through the snow, braving 10 degrees of frost in an outfit with bare legs and always having perfectly non-frizzy hair, no matter how hard the storm blows. Rich New York socialites don’t do cold and winter because that’s so for the common folk.
- Studying the front row etiquette up close, accurately analyzing the sideways glances between row 1 and 2, and seeing where all those self-proclaimed super successful bloggers actually sit. I guess, and in the case of some, hope, somewhere between Starbucks and McDonald's three blocks away. Or is that too mean?
- The show of Diane von Furstenberg. Because; the best models, the happiest show, delightful fashion, and the busiest front row. Afterwards, having a cup of coffee or a glass of bubbly with Diane and you won’t have a child left in us.
- Shopping at Victoria’s Secret. Especially Jet is looking forward to this because thanks to the detox and the exercising, shopping for new sets suddenly becomes an even greater pleasure. The exercising is recent and we do it together, every Tuesday and Friday at 07:30, but since I have let the detox pass me by (17 days without wine is really not an option), I am looking forward to shopping in general more. May-Britt also wants to shop, especially at the pharmacy, for sleeping pills. So.
- New York in general. As I write this, ‘Empire State of Mind’ by Alicia Keys is coming out of May's MacBook speakers and immediately the butterflies shoot through my stomach. I hear Jet saying she is so nervous for nothing in particular but Jet, I know why that is, it’s New York. Nooooooew York!
