6 ways to wear the onepiece
In New York, Peggy, Liesbeth, and I fell so in love with an overall from Club Monaco that we all three dove into the fitting room and came out, as if we were the successors of Destiny’s Child, Liesbeth eventually dropped out (because it wasn't really ‘Lies) but Peggy and I left the building overjoyed with our onepiece made of washed silk. Ideal for a day when you want to be dressed in one movement, but you have to be careful that it doesn't become boring. This is how you rock it.
Spice it up with a belt
At Club Monaco, I bought a beautiful belt with a gold-colored front. Peggy has a stunning Céline belt made of gold-colored circles. A simple suit calls for a ‘piece’ that makes both look even better.
Hangers and bags
No matching belt? No worries, a petite bag that you wear crossbody is your perfect accessory. Or a long pendant like that nice one from Isabel Marant or Michael Kors. My baby-mattress is my favorite onepiece upspicer.
Combine it with a jacket
That can be a jacket in the same color, but since your onepiece is usually in a solid color, you can choose a patterned piece to make your look a bit more striking. In any case, it's a good idea to wear the jacket over your shoulders. This way, the silhouette of the suit is better highlighted.
Combine solid with bright
If you have, for example, a light blue pastel suit that you combine with a matching jacket, then combine it with delicious neon pumps and a bag. For the much-needed refreshment, that is.
Go for patterns
Don't say that you couldn't wear a print multiple times and people then say, “there she is again with that print.” Well, so what. Then you have yourself back in that print. It's that really cool print that everyone apparently remembers. And with such a suit, it's extra fashionable.
Ensure enough sexiness
You obviously don't combine such a onepiece overall with Nikes. No, ladies. A sturdy heel goes under it. The buttons go quite far loose and make sure to wear a cute little bra with a leopard print or maybe, go wild, even something neon-ish. Make it happen.
