Heide Olijerhoek is the owner of Babassu. Babassu is, by its own description, a store for wellness and lifestyle. That's absolutely true, because with so many wonderful beauty treatments, scents, and care products, you always leave feeling relaxed. Heidi talks in this Beauty Q&A about her moments of relaxation and the products that play a favorite role in her lovely life.
MORNING RITUAL
“Because I find it important to experience how products feel on the skin, I regularly switch up my daily care routine. Of course, I have a few favorites that I always use or keep returning to. These include Acyl Glutathione eye serum from Perricone MD. Without this lifting eye serum, I can't start my day off right. Furthermore, I use the Cold Plasma treatment from the same brand daily under a good moisturizer. One of my favorite creams is ‘The Cure’ from Natura Bissé. For my hair, I use products from Philip B. This line contains many botanical ingredients in high concentrations, making it economical in use. You really only need a tiny bit. I exfoliate my facial skin with ’Blue Plasma’. This ‘no peel peeling’ from Perricone MD is enzyme-based. So no acids are involved. For my body, I use the Vit C body scrub from Natura Bissé. Additionally, my breakfast with soy yogurt, muesli, goji berries, and blueberries is the engine to kickstart my day.”
5 MINUTES MAKE-UP
“My toiletry bag is full of products from the Australian cosmetics brand BECCA.
For example, I always wear ‘The Cure’ Sheer Eye (from Natura Bissé), a light, airy eye care that also protects, brightens, and conceals the skin around the eyes. Mineral Bronzing Powder Duende (BECCA) for a beautiful natural sunny complexion. In winter, I use the Luminous Skin Color foundation from BECCA or the No foundation from Perricone MD. Eyebrow powder from Anastacia adds expression and is the most important part of my makeup. A small touch of Shimmering Skin Perfector from BECCA on my cheekbones and nose bridge gives such a beautiful fresh and healthy glow! Finally, I always use mascara. Right now, I'm in love with the mascara from Revitalash, but I've also been using Helena Rubinstein for years.”
EYEBROWS OR LASHES
“Beautifully shaped eyebrows characterize your face and give the right expression. If you make one wrong move while shaping, you can completely ruin the form. We perform many Babassu Brow treatments. Here, the eyebrow is tightly shaped and brought into the right form. Naturally, I am blonde, so my eyebrows are quite light-colored by themselves. Therefore, I dye my eyebrows once a month and shape them daily with an eyebrow powder from Anastacia.‘
FAVORITE PERFUME
“I love the scent of figs and regularly wear Silk from UERMI or Premier Fiquier L’Artisan Parfumeur. I also enjoy powdery perfumes like Lalibela from Memo or Teint de Neige from Lorenzo Viloresi. I mix both perfumes with a veil of Molecule 01.”
SPA-MOMENT
“Because I am busy every day, I prefer to book an effective treatment focused on skin improvement rather than just going for relaxation (I should, of course, but I don't give myself the time for it J). Therefore, my ultimate treatment is the CACI treatment. This works on the basis of low-frequency current and must be performed in a course. The CACI naturally promotes the firmness and tension of the facial muscles. For ultimate relaxation, ‘The Diamond treatment’ from Natura Bisse is my favorite. The soft lavender scent, relaxing massage techniques, and effective products give you THE ultimate feeling of luxury, quality, and relaxation!”
