Iris Poldervaart is a PR princess who has the wind at her back. And works very hard to get to where she wants to be. From the PR department of Tommy Hilfiger, she moved on to her own PR agency where she represented Tommy, Escada, Karl Lagerfeld, and more. After the birth of her son, she completely focuses on the platform of her stylists The Chair, which her husband Jeffrey Janssen has conceived. And she still ‘does’ Karl Lagerfeld too. Once a workhorse... Or should I say work princess? Today, Iris shares her beauty do's with you. Because she knows a thing or two about that, you understand.

Morning ritual

“I take a good amount of time every morning to get ready for the day. I wash my hair every other day with Kérastase Discipline Bain Fluidealiste & Kérastase Discipline Soin 2. This makes your hair beautifully soft and shiny. Occasionally, I wear my hair straight. Then Kérastase Discipline is a perfect base. In terms of care, I have been using (since I was 18e!) Hydramax cream from CHANEL for years. My new favorite cream is Dr. Bergman 24 hour Guard. This was once in a goodie bag. But I switch it up, because currently, I am slathering myself with the Hyaluronic moisture cushion (oil-free) moisturizer from Dr. Dennis Gross.

5 minutes make-up

“I can't live without Touche Éclat from YSL, a black kohl pencil (preferably from MAC, which is not too soft and not too hard), a beautiful blush from Chanel (Joues Contraste powder blush in pink shades). That blush ensures that you get a color in your face at a glance. To complete the look, I naturally use a beautiful mascara from Givenchy. It gives a lot of volume and has a nice black color.”

Eyebrows or lashes

“Well, I have completely switched to the full eyebrow. A bit of a shame because after plucking, there isn't much left for me. If I could, I would let Cara Delevigne's eyebrows grow, but uh, that's not going to happen. Recently, I have been dutifully going to my eyebrow specialist every month, who, miraculously, manages to do something with it. I now have to ‘touch up’ every day with the eyebrow pencil from YSL – Dessin Des Sourcils.”

Favorite perfume

“Well, this is also a ‘work in progress’ because I simply haven't found my perfume yet. Believe me, I have been searching for a long time. Blanche from Byredo comes quite close, but it's still just not it. All tips are welcome as long as it's powdery, smells like fresh laundry, and has a hint of Musk. Oh yes, and the scent must of course last all day. I find it so beautiful that sometimes when you walk past someone, you catch a whiff of their perfume. Lovely, as long as it's not too overpowering.”

Favorites role

“There are different brands that I keep coming back to. For hair, that's Kérastase and Shu Uemura, as for makeup, my preference goes to CHANEL, YSL, MAC, and Estée Lauder. I am always open to something new, as long as it's a brand with quality. I prefer to pay a little more if it stays better.”

Hair-must-haves

“Perhaps not surprisingly, I spend a lot of time on my hair (at least 10 to 30 minutes every morning). So I wash my hair every other day with Kérastase. I style it differently every day. The advantage is that my boyfriend is a hairdresser, so you have all the tricks at hand. I also use our The Chair Tutorials as inspiration, for example, I just had a bob cut, the trend for the coming autumn. Before I blow-dry or style my hair with the Babyliss straightener or the Remington curling iron, I always use Essential Oil from Shu Uemura, so my hair stays beautiful and shiny and is protected from the heat.

Red carpet essential

“The Cream Color Base from MAC, color Blush. When you apply this to your cheekbone, you get a beautiful natural glow. Works very well if you need to be photographed!”

Best purchase

“Not so much a product as a treatment is worth the investment. I would like to undergo a Microdermabrasion with the Oxygen Treatment. Just refreshing the entire face and combating fine lines. Well, I will have to keep an eye on that, you know after your 30e!”

Never leave home without

I really never leave without Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream. This keeps my lips soft and supple and I believe it has also become a bit of an addiction... My boyfriend finds it terrible because I really can't give him a kiss when I have this on. Then I smell like a hospital, so...”

Biggest style icon

“Can I choose multiple? I actually have a number of women who, in my eyes, are style icons. All in their own way, because with one I look at the hair while the other is very inspiring in the beauty field. So a small overview of my list; Chiara Ferragni (aka The Blond Salad), Victoria Beckham, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Olivia Palermo, and Jane Birkin.”
