Beauty

Sandra Govers assisted Ellis Faas during the Fashion Weeks in Paris and Milan, and is now head of the cabin for shows of G-Star and Diesel and creates the most creative looks for ELLE. We can all learn a lot from her beauty rituals and look better.

Morning ritual

I always start by cleansing my face with the Parsley Seed Facial Cleansing Oil from Aesop. It's my favorite and available at Skins Cosmetics. Additionally, I scrub my skin every day with Dr. Gross. After my face is completely cleansed, I apply a Vitamin C serum from Obagi, available at Lotus Beauty Clinic, and a face cream from Kanebo Sensai. The entire facial ritual is completed with an SPF 50 cream, also from Kanebo. I quickly do my makeup with the Virgin Isle blush from M.A.C. Cosmetics and finish it off with a mascara and coral-colored lip from Ellis Faas. When I'm done, I often have just a few seconds to pour myself a bowl of oatmeal before I run out the door.”

Red carpet essential

For all those lucky bastards out there who walk the red carpet every weekend, I have a humble piece of advice. Don't go for boring. Explore your limits and dare!”

Eyebrows or lashes

“I already have good eyebrows, so I definitely pay attention to the eyelashes. With models sitting in my chair, I always enhance the eyebrows a bit more and brush them up. That always makes me very happy.”

Unexpected beauty tool

“The index finger. You can beautifully apply lips, cream blush, and eyeshadow with it.”

Favorite perfume

“I love the scent of figs. That's why the Diptyque Philosykos (available at Skins Cosmetics) is my favorite.”

Never leave home without

“A pair of sunglasses and SPF 50.”

Nice beauty purchase

“I'm always looking for the next best thing. Right now, I'm focusing a lot on nutrition. After all, you are what you eat, and nutrition has such an impact on your skin. I'm currently reading the Hormone Balance Diet by Ralph Moorman.”

Don't tell anyone but

“Vaseline is the best remedy for dry skin and therefore also for dry lines. Really, just Vaseline.”
