With a job as a PR manager for prestige brands like Lancaster, Philosophy, and fragrances like Marc Jacobs, Calvin Klein, everyone is of course quite jealous. Additionally, Daphne is incredibly fun and every meeting with her is a celebration. She always looks perfectly groomed and is now happily sharing all her secrets with us.
Morning ritual
“Even though I take a bath every morning, I am quite quick in the morning. Good care doesn’t take much time. Sometimes it’s nice to unpack a bit, take some time for yourself, but I usually do that in the evening. Currently, I use the Total Age Correction line from Lancaster, but what I really can’t do without is the 365 serum Anti Dark Spot corrector from Lancaster. I do switch skincare lines occasionally or mix lines together. However, I use this serum every evening and morning before applying day or night care. I come from a generation that still enjoyed a tanning bed and spent entire summers on the beach with my parents. At 18, I got my first pigmentation spots. I’ve tried everything, even laser treatments, but since I started using this serum, I see the most stubborn ones on my cheek (so nice and visible) slowly disappearing. And I’m very happy with that.
Once a week, because more often is not allowed, I use the Microdelivery Peel from Philosophy, a wonderful product. A peel that doesn’t make you red and flaky and gives the skin a fresh appearance. The first thing I do in the morning after using this peel the night before is look in the mirror at my even, well-rested skin. And I also use Lancaster 365 over the peel. When the sun shines, I do put some SPF on top, because after peeling, you are extra vulnerable. For my daily scrub, I use the Microdelivery Wash also from Philosophy. The best preparation for my makeup.
I’ve been using that large, now solid green hairspray from Wella for as long as I can remember. My grandmother used it when it was still a white can with green blocks and a red rose on it. I’ve tried something else but always come back to this brand. When it comes to shampoo and conditioner, I’m absolutely not loyal to one brand. I have easy hair and grab whatever is nearby. I do try everything. The shower gels from Philosophy are also suitable for washing your hair. I do that when I feel like having a hairstyle that smells like Coconut Frosting or Amazing Grace.”
5 minutes make-up
“Foundation, concealer, mascara, lipstick, and blush. Yes, the whole shebang actually, but with good light, this can be done in 5 minutes. The lipstick, mascara, and foundation are from Rimmel. I do buy more so-called prestige products, but the quality of Rimmel is really amazing and the products never let me down.”
Eyebrows or lashes
“I wear glasses, and that’s why eyebrows are very important. I fill them in with a natural color. I’m quite blonde, literally, and otherwise, I have such a bald head. I think all women should draw beautiful eyebrows or not pluck them too aggressively. Eyebrows complete the look. But I especially believe that everyone should do what they feel is best. It’s about feeling good about what you do because that’s also what you radiate.”
Favorite perfume
“Can I make perfumes from that? I can’t choose, you know. Actually, this is a very personal question. The scent I pick in the morning is a reflection of the mood I’m in. I have a few favorites, the oldest being Jil Sander no 4. Followed by Chloe, which with the bow is indeed, relatively recent but still a classic, and the fragrances from Bottega Veneta, the newest scent Knot that just hit the store, I’ve added to my ”favo’ list.”
Favorites role
“I combine the brands I work with, so for skincare, that’s Philosophy and Lancaster. And within the lines, I also switch it up. Of course, because I want to try everything, but also because I see that it works.”
Best purchase
That’s definitely the Rolföhn brush from Babyliss. My hair is styled in no time, or actually without any effort because this hairdryer rolls itself and I don’t have to do anything else, except place it at strategic points. I have a spare one in case it stops working because then I’m really at a loss. I buy it as a gift for friends who then get ”hooked’ on it themselves and I recommend it to everyone. I think I’m probably a shareholder by now.”
Never leave home without
“My entire makeup bag with contents and a mini Chloe.”
Million Dollar Tip
“Last week I came across the new Miracle gel from Sally Hansen, I’m a big fan. What an invention a gel polish without a lamp, that doesn’t damage your nails, you can apply yourself and remove with regular nail polish remover. The first one I tried was a bright red color. Even after a weekend of gardening, where I was pulling a lot of weeds, the polish still looked great. Saves me a lot of time going back and forth to the nail salon and because you do it yourself, you can change colors more often.”
Biggest Style Icon
“I’m not really into icons. I didn’t have a crush on pop and movie stars when I was younger either. If I had to name someone, it would be Cristina Carlino, the founder of Philosophy who claims that all women are beautiful in themselves and launched products that make women even more beautiful, but are not necessarily essential. It’s just what you want. And what you do is good. The packaging of the products features nice appealing texts that make you feel good. And the fact that you look even more beautiful when you use them is a nice bonus!”
