Yellow is the word
“Are you going to be a mom or a milf, that's the big question?” A dear friend asked me when I proudly told him that I was pregnant. Of course, I chose option b, duh. The first tool to parade a bit beautifully through the streets was suitable transportation. My friend Fiona Hering, who had given birth a few months before me, set the perfect example. She strolled in with a sleek black Bugaboo and walked behind it in a matching black dress with divine panther shoes from Roberto Cavalli for H&M that she, noblesse oblige, had already possessed in fashionable form long before the collection hit the stores. My kind of girl and my kind of mother.
I received my Chameleon from my dear brother and it was the perfect gift because I could combine beautifully. In the winter months when my daughter was just born, we chose stylish black. In the spring, we swapped the black jacket for beige and walked, completely CHANEL in two-tone, through the streets. When my second daughter was born, I bought her a denim cover. My third daughter was treated to a Bugaboo Donkey, a very nice stroller that can also fit two children and a lot of shopping, and there too I chose the ever-chic beige-black combination.
It's just that I find three daughters wonderful and sufficient, but this Bugaboo Banana, produced in collaboration with Andy Warhol Studios, almost makes me brood. The stroller is inspired by the iconic Banana print that Andy Warhol created in 1966 for The Velvet Underground's album featuring singer Nico, and oh la la what a joy. Fits perfectly with the palm tree trend which I am also so incredibly into. If you find it all a bit too much yellow, you can swap the footmuff for a black one. But I would say, make a statement. Choose the sun and go bananas.
