With this lovely weather this week, Carolien had to do some summer shopping, of course lying in the sun, grabbing a terrace, but also working hard. She takes you along in her fast lane life…
1. Sunday I was nicely free, so I felt obliged to enjoy the sunshine 24/7. Together with Marly, I started at Strand Zuid and we ended up on the terrace at Palladium for their acclaimed salad. With fries!
2. My husband made me jealous often last week with photos from the film festival in Cannes. But as a consolation, he came home yesterday with the best souvenir I could wish for: a box of macarons from La Durée…
3. With that summery weather, I couldn't resist going shopping for a new Summer look. The damage? A turquoise Rayban sunglasses, a golden watch from Guess, and a new summer bag from Philomijn.
4. Yesterday I presented a special Charity event on the border of the Netherlands-Belgium, called ‘Aan Tafel’. The proceeds went to Stichting Gijsje Eigenwijsje (offering families of sick children a holiday in Brabant) and The Jack Rabbit foundation (making hospitals as ‘child-friendly’ as possible).
5. This sunny weekend, many one-day restaurants opened their doors during Restaurant week. My girlfriend had a beautiful pop-up restaurant called Emilie’s Alley, in the cutest courtyard of Amsterdam. She had made the most delicious dishes. Lentil salad with goat cheese, almonds, and green asparagus. As a dessert addict, I of course tried all the desserts. My favorite: the ‘Fanfuckingtastic chocolate cake’.
