Celebrities and their Twitter blunders
When I went looking for the tweet from Kim Kardashian for this post in which she wrote that she would not broadcast her wedding for privacy reasons, I discovered that she had deleted the relevant tweet. She wrote that there would be no cameras at the ceremony because “privacy is our main priority.” Of course, the entire internet had to laugh out loud immediately because if there is anyone who puts her whole life out there, it's our Kimmie. She can do whatever she wants, but then don't tweet such things. The fact that she deleted the tweet went relatively unnoticed, as often happens. But luckily, the Internet never forgets anything and there are always people who quickly take screenshots of everything. Therefore, now, for Wednesday afternoon entertainment, a summary of some notable deleted tweets from the past years.
Hulk Hogan
The wrestling legend and former reality star of the MTV series Hogan Knows Best (confession: I watched that series a lot) posted a photo of his slightly too blonde daughter Brooke. Fine, of course, but it was quite a sexually suggestive photo with the text: “Brooke's legs.” Quite a bit strange.
Rob Kardashian
Did you know that Rob had a heated relationship with Rita Ora a few years ago? It ended because she cheated on him with 20 men, something that Rob couldn't just brush off. A series of quite angry tweets from him followed, to which Rita responded with “Rob's dick was wack, I had to get it somewhere else.” Ouch. Rob retweeted the text with “So you let me get you pregnant and you let others hit raw” but not long after, he clicked delete.
Kim Kardashian
What is it with the water in those Kardashian houses? Kim wanted to show her political side and posted “praying for everyone in Israel” and then “and praying for everyone in Palestine and across the world!” Of course, this total lack of historical knowledge did not sit well, and even though she was quick to delete it, the damage was already done.
Mary J. Blidge
A few years ago, there was a lot of fuss about Mary, who lied about having gone to Howard University. This tweet did not help her quest to come across as intelligent.
Courtney Love
Last year, Lana released a cover of Nirvana's Heart Shaped Box. To the dismay of Courtney Love, the widow of Nirvana singer Kurt Cobain. She explained to Lana in detail what the song is really about (uhm, her vagina) and asked Lana, “next time you sing it, think about my vagina will you?”
Alexa Chung
Now almost two years ago but still vividly etched in many people's memories: Alexa tweeting about a sex dream with Karl. Karl Lagerfeld. Yeah, I know. A few hours later, Alexa was also shocked and took the tweet offline. I wonder if Karl ever saw it.
Katy Perry
When she was still happy with professional weirdo Russell Brand, he posted this photo of his Katy on Twitter. She was, of course, not amused and forced him to delete the makeup-free picture immediately. A good reason for a divorce if you ask me.
So boys and girls, be careful with what you throw out on Twitter, more people are reading along than you think.
