SHOPPING IN YOUR LOUNGEWEAR

Harvard Business School conducted a study on status, which revealed that people who are poorly dressed enjoy more status. At least, among retailers. The researchers surveyed pedestrians and retailers in Milan. Pedestrians were very impressed by fur coats and large sunglasses, but retailers know that appearances can be deceiving. They believe it actually shows tremendous self-confidence (and is indicative of a well-filled wallet) when people come shopping in their sweatpants. Apparently, they have time to work out during the day and to buy a new Chanel Boy.
