PERZIK EN PASSIE ZURE
On Mondays, we always start with a healthy shake, so we can kick off the weekend with a cocktail on Friday, right? I'm heading out in Amsterdam for the best in the city. And I'll share that with you. With a recipe. Of course, we much prefer hanging out at a bar, but we can also get to work at home once in a while.
I had never been to the Skybar SkyLounge on the 11th floor of the Hilton DoubleTree, but I'm adding this address to my favorites. Even if you're not planning to drink a cocktail, but happen to be cycling near the central station, just pop in. Or actually, go up. Even on a dreary day like this, the view is breathtaking. It even left me a bit speechless. On one side, you can see far into the center of Amsterdam, and to the north, you look over the IJ. So beautiful.
The bartender is the best in the city, he says. He brews all the syrups he uses for his cocktails himself in his kitchen, and drinks like Mojito and cosmopolitan are too simple and boring. He prefers to shake a Peach & Passion Sour for us. And he's right. This is just incredibly delicious.
What do you need and how do you make it:
- A whiskey glass
- 20ml vers limoensap
- 20ml suikersiroop
- 40ml Jack Daniels whiskey
- 30ml Licor 43
- 10ml Ricard
First, chill the glass with lots of ice. Put all the ingredients in a shaker and then, yes, shake it. Taste with a straw to see if it's to your liking.
Throw the ice cubes out of the glass and fill the glass with the drink. Garnish it nicely with a slice of lime, an edible flower, or a sprig of mint. Or all of them, of course. So easy. It's a shame I'm on a detox now because wow, I really want this cocktail. Soon I'll be making the shake in my own kitchen, but I'm definitely going to the Skybar. There's even a DJ on the weekend. Who's coming with me?
