And then the 17 days of Innerwave Detox were suddenly over. Five days of tapering off, seven days of juicing, and then five days of building back up. The tapering days were manageable. Our menu consisted of rice cakes or fruit for breakfast, some rice cakes with salad and/or lean toppings for lunch, and for dinner, a plate with quinoa, vegetables, and some fish. As mentioned, I was quite a bit nervous about the juice fasting. The prospect of suffering from hunger for seven days made me already grumpy in advance, especially since many sunny days were coming up. But strangely enough, the juicing wasn't too bad for me. I was especially very surprised that I hadn't eaten solid food for days and that I was still standing upright despite that. But as we last week wrote, it was mainly very very very boring not to be allowed to eat. Further into the week in points.

– When you heard from us last week, we had just finished our last juice day. I don't know exactly why, but I was craving a rice cake with avocado, smoked salmon, and a bit of pepper and salt. When I had that for the first time again on Sunday afternoon, I was almost beside myself with happiness.

– We both quickly noticed that it's difficult to muster the discipline to stay in line and follow the rebuilding menu after juicing. Once you've done the juicing, you're actually so damn done with it that you'd prefer to skip the rebuilding diet immediately. But your stomach simply can't handle that yet, so taking it easy is really important.

– Last Sunday we were invited to a summer barbecue at the top restaurant Izakaya. That was actually doomed to fail in advance, of course, but we proved ourselves immensely because apart from a welcome cocktail (okay, and I had a glass of wine), we managed to resist all temptations.

– We also found a new favorite spot where you can get unbelievably delicious salads. Totally organic, responsible, and homemade. Satisfied it's hot, on the Jan Pieter Heijestraat in Amsterdam. They have a cozy bench in front where you can enjoy people-watching and the sun.

– We are diligently and earnestly continuing to exercise. Our trainer is over the moon because (finally) we are seeing some results. Muscular buttocks and thighs, fewer rolls, in short, it's getting a bit tighter.

– Jet also notices that it works. Nails are beautiful, hair shines, skin is good – it feels healthy. By the way, I feel that a bit less strongly.

– You've heard us complain a lot about the supplements that come with Innerwave, but secretly some were quite okay. Especially the Psyllium Husk is a favorite because it prevents cravings, reduces hunger, and is packed with fiber which ensures good bowel movements. The taste is quite manageable, so we ordered a 400-gram jar and intend to incorporate this into our daily routine.

– I notice that I can't handle alcohol very well. Not so strange after going 17 days without alcohol, but still. On Wednesday, I went out for drinks with a friend until I suddenly became nauseous and immediately fled home. I had about four glasses of wine then, and believe me, normally it would have been much more. At the moment of writing, I'm on the Thalys heading to Paris for a press trip with Moët et Chandon, so I'm holding my breath.

– Jet is doing better. She treated herself to a ridiculously expensive but mega delicious piece of tuna from Marqt on Thursday evening.

– Destination Killerbody is almost at an end, by the way. On July 1st, we will stop, having done it for three months. We will also slightly change our workout routine because training three times a week is, of course, not free. We will keep you updated, of course. First, let's just make it to July 1st.
