Both Jet and I were in France last weekend, Jet in Nice and I in Paris. While Jet always started her day with a good run, my morning ritual was walking to the boulangerie for a baguette et une croissant. The whole weekend was actually all about food, from bread to cheese and everything in between. We started this week with quite a full and round feeling and were eager to train it all off. The week in points.

– As mentioned, a lot of bread had to be trained off. Wow, I do NOT understand how those Parisiennes can stay so incredibly slim, I would undoubtedly have serious overweight within a year if I lived in Paris.

– Jet ate at restaurant Le Grill in Monaco, the restaurant where she herself worked four years ago. Old colleagues were met, a dessert from the house came to the table, and the evening was just as nice and delightful as she had hoped.

– Furthermore, she ate grilled dorade for lunch four days in a row and can now absolutely not see grilled dorade anymore. Well, for now at least.

– This week I got quite the summer in my head and started The Big Clean-Up. In August, I will have lived in the house where I currently live for 7 years, and in those 7 years, I have, uh, well, quite a lot of junk accumulated. I am an incredible hoarder, I got that from my mother. She could casually keep broken irons and toasters and would say, “oh, it doesn't eat bread.” In two days, I collected about THIRTY garbage bags of junk that weighed a total of 220 kilos. I then lifted all those bags three stories down, put them in the car, and then delivered them to the dump. I can tell you, it was quite a workout, not less than an hour of boxing.

– Friday was of course football night. Even for me, yes. Football goes hand in hand with meters of beer and unhealthy food, definitely not killer body-proof but what must be done must be done.

– We are still incredibly happy with our Lorna Jane sportswear. It surprises me every day how incredibly slim I look thanks to my new sports pants, and that is really a huge motivation.

– I have a very quiet weekend with few appointments, a breath of fresh air. There is accidentally a bag of mini stroopwafels next to me, but that can surely be allowed on the weekend, right?

– By the way, we had a small discussion about cardio this week. Because, is it good or not? It can't be bad, but my sports friend Esmée claims that cardio during your training is nonsense and a waste of time. Not true, says our trainer. Who is right? What should we do? Does anyone have any ideas about that?

– Until next week!
