If you are reading this, I am probably lying somewhere in front of a fireplace (I hope mine), with a couple of kids next to me (I hope mine) and a very nice man (same) pouring a glass of Amarone for me.
While I write this, there are two children sleeping next to me, the washing machine is humming, and Jort is telling me in the background How It All Actually Should Be. Albert.nl is ordered for Saturday and now I have to prepare a event that I am hosting tomorrow.
Last night I slept five hours because we turned off the lights at the Mercurs Gala and just now I made a lightning visit to Wendy van Dijk who launched her 360-degree platform Wendy.
High gentlemen and ladies of the Mercurs, that launch of the year of 2015 is already in. What a spectacle this party was. Humberto Tan presented (he apparently still had time…), I saw Dinand, Estelle, Nicolette van Dam, Herman den Blijker, and many friends from my profession like Marie-Nanette Schaepman (the woman who conceived Jan) and Esther Goedegebuure (the woman who now runs Jan). Curious, undoubtedly, but just like me also full of admiration and respect to launch something so grand and new in this time.
These December weeks are always overflowing with cozy events. It starts with Tiffany’s Thanksgiving drink and trickles through these weeks. On Tuesday, Estée Lauder Companies opened their doors to raise a glass and look forward to all that is to come in the new year.
The day after, our friends from Chanel created a ‘pop-up’ Chanel world in the heart of Jordaan. We swooned over a new perfume (one of the Exclusifs from Chanel, those divine scents that are only available in the boutiques), received a hand massage with all the Sublimage products. Yes, they are actually for the face but what is good for the head is also great for the hand. And we caught up. About the bodies of the ladies in Rio, the wardrobe we all want (from Ikea, with a bag and jewelry department) and of course the Paris-Salzburg collection and what exactly we would want from it.
The makeup artists immediately gave us a complete makeover so we left the venue ready for the Mercur party.
And yes, I know I am jumping from one topic to another in this diary. Forgive me, it is my current state of mind. Those December days will be like that.
