AND THEN THERE WAS DOUTZEN

It doesn't happen often that all fashion-loving Amsterdam gathers in a large bank building on a dreary Wednesday evening, but last night it was so. The show of Björn Borg took place in the KAS BANK and just leave it to the PR agency Spice PR to ensure that truly everyone is there. We saw Karin Swerink (editor-in-chief VOGUE), Esther Coppoolse (fashion director ELLE), fashion designer Bas Kosters, Beertje van Beers, Winonah de Jong, my dear friend Sophia Tienstra and of course, of course we also saw Doutzen Kroes. I had never seen her in real life before, but from now on my life consists of a part before I saw her and a part after. Honestly, I wish I could act blasé about it and say it’s not a big deal, but she is truly mesmerizingly beautiful. After her welcome speech, the show began, which consisted of the autumn and winter collection. The underwear and fine jogging clothes looked very desirable, as did the male models. We are of course extremely professional but to be honest, all those passing washboard abs had quite a distracting effect. The hair was done by Hester Wernert-Rijn, the woman who year after year wins the award for Best Hairdresser in the country. Makeup was provided by Sandra Govers, who with about 8 years of New York Fashion Week experience and countless shoots for, among others, ELLE is certainly not a beginner.

After the show, the music started, the bar opened, and the lights were far from out. Handsome boys and girls crowded in front of the photowall, eagerly exchanging business cards, winking a lot, and definitely dancing as well. I wore stunning L.K. Bennett pumps that attracted quite a bit of attention and were even enthusiastically photographed by many bloggers and party photographers. You understand, my heart fills with pride and joy when my kids are well received. When my friend and I headed home, the goodie bags were unfortunately all gone, but hey, with Doutzen still fresh in my mind, it doesn’t matter much. Thank you Björn Borg, thank you very much.
