And that is exactly what Gwyneth Paltrow did last weekend. The green goddess pulled 23 top pieces from her closet and encouraged her fashion friends, including Miranda Kerr and Kate Hudson, to also provide some cast-offs.

Last Thursday, the sale started via her lifestyle site Goop and the chance to walk around in Nicole Richie's silver Louboutin slingbacks ($300) or Beyoncé's custom made boots from Stuart Weitsman ($2500) was seized with both hands. Within a few hours, everything was practically sold out and the sale had already generated a tidy $16,000. Those who feel like they missed the boat can still check if the purple BLK DNM jacket ($700) from Chanel muse Caroline de Maigret is something or if Gwyn's quilted bag from Carolina Herrera ($950) would look nice on your arm.
