– H&M eco-preshopping event –
JET IS OUT
Yesterday I hopped on my scooter on my way to Loods 6 on the KNSM island for the launch of the H&M Conscious New World Collection. The evening in short. Artworks were displayed that five artists created together with five well-known Dutch ladies – including director Sanne Vogel, actress Victoria Koblenko, and singer Eveline Vroonland – inspired by five sustainable themes. The highlight of the evening was the preshopping of the new sustainable Conscious collections from H&M.
I must honestly say that I am not really that concerned with sustainable clothing. I do pay attention to the environment with other things, like energy-saving light bulbs, organic cleaning products, and setting the washing machine to 30 degrees instead of 40. The idea of ecological clothing seems a bit granola-sock-ish to me, and I picture baggy pants, droopy pants (you know, those jogging pants with a very low crotch) in dull colors. Well, I was wrong. Very trendy model land emerged, and the entire, and I mean the entire collection of the H&M Conscious collection can immediately go in my closet. You pay a little more than the normal Hennes prices, but it is really special. I couldn't resist trying on an outfit. I chose a leather pleated skirt in soft pink and a white blazer with embellished see-through on the sleeves. Wow. Liesbeth tried on a thunder blue ball gown that she didn't want to take off.
After the presentation and the pre-shopping, Valentijn was spinning records and delicious organic bites came by, such as a bite of salmon with avocado on a small cup of quinoa, and I drank a cocktail of vodka, elderflower, and passion fruit.
On April 10, the online sale of the collection starts. I set my alarm and will be the first to be there.
