Today is the second elimination. I throw the bag with outfits that I was allowed to borrow from my dear Rob from Players in Haarlem. The danger of borrowing from your favorite store is that you end up buying half of it, but hey, no one has ever gotten worse from looking good.

For today, my own skinny jeans are on the menu. I spice it up a bit with a Chanel scarf as a belt. A beautiful jacket from Donna Karen Collection on top, my Alexander McQueen boots underneath, and I'm ready. The bottom is totally unimportant since we will be sitting behind a desk from today, so I could almost show up naked if it weren't for the sound guy having a bit of trouble hanging up the transmitter. No, my skinny is a perfect buddy for today.

On the route planner, I clear sugarfactory in Halfweg. Today we are going to the modelhouse. It is located in Leiden this year. In the flour factory to be precise. I drive onto the grounds which are vast. The building resembles a high school where the hallway system looks more complicated than it actually is.

Selke, the makeup artist, has transformed a peeling little room into a beauty parlor. We drink coffee from plastic cups, check the final result in a portable mirror, and have a great time. In the large room further on, the producers and editors are sitting. There is some lunch. Loving, but there is no glamour.

Then I haven't been in the girls’ room yet. Sneakily, Anouk and I walk upstairs. The room is visually nice, but comfort is harder to find than when the girls had Back to Basic as a theme last year. No, there are no mice, they excitedly tell me. But there are bats. They swoop right over their heads at night. There are also two portable toilets. On the left one hangs a rather sad A4 sheet with the text: poop toilet.

Put a group of girls together and you know; it's going to be a mess. The loft in the flour factory is no exception. Unmade beds, overflowing suitcases, piles of makeup. We will soon go to New York to show that ‘if you can make it there, you can make it anywhere’. But something tells me that if you survive the flour factory, you're already well on your way.

On to the elimination!
