Hotels of the fashion people
There was a time when I firmly believed in the principle of “oh, the hotel doesn't matter, we only sleep there, so just make it as cheap as possible” when it came to city trips. I have experienced this firsthand multiple times, and it is a huge misconception. The place where you sleep, whether it's AirBNB or a hotel, determines the success of the trip by 50%. In New York, we had agreat loft on Park Avenue rented via AirBNB, and in London, we stayed in one of the most beautiful hotels in the city, and in both cases, it greatly contributed to the happiness of the person. Fashion people know this too, who typically reside in the most beautiful hotels in the city. And strangely enough, these are often the same hotels, as in, fashion people like to clique together. Are you in one of the fashion cities that Amayzine also visits during Fashion Week? Then patrol in front of these hotels and bet that you will see the entire street style army pass by you.
This is such a hotel place that is free from standard hotel rules and just does whatever they feel like in terms of interior design. A cylindrical aquarium in the lobby, chesterfields in the lounge, and a portrait gallery for that old 18th-century feel. A collected mishmash, but a damn good collected mishmash. A rooftop with an excellent bar and a swimming pool, and of course, to die for, lovely rooms. Caroline Vreeland also thinks so. Linda Tol, Shea Marie and Caroline Vreeland. In this hotel, all the trendy bloggers and other street style favorites are staying, so you won't lack outfit inspiration here.
During London Fashion Week, we set up the temporary Amayzine Headquarters here, and it was a gift from heaven. Without wanting to sound too exaggerated, man, what a fantastic hotel. The lobby alone is like a museum with the most eccentric furniture pieces, the nicest people, and the in-house restaurant Asia de Cuba was a delightful place for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We joyfully hopped into the hotel, and every morning it was a celebration to stand under the rain shower. The hotel is located in one of the nicest neighborhoods in the city, the service is grand, everyone is so kind, and just for all this, I can highly recommend making the investment and booking your stay here. Additionally, during Fashion Week, this is Olivia Palermo's regular hotel and many models, because every evening we saw whole groups of tall, thin, beautiful girls with show makeup and hair tiredly wandering to their rooms. Oh, and PS, we are not sponsored by this hotel, and my enthusiasm comes purely from the fact that it is a fantastic hotel.
For years, Le Meurice was absolutely the hotel for everyone in the highest ranks of fashion. Anna Wintour, for example, and with her all the other Vogue editors gave no other hotels a glance because Le Meurice was the regular hangout. Mario Testino and Alber Elbaz also liked to come here. But that changed when the hotel came into the hands of the Sultan of Brunei, a not very pleasant man with medieval and barbaric ideas. A global boycott led by Brian Atwood and Saint Laurent was the result, and the press couldn't stop writing about it. This all happened in May, so we will have to see where the fashion elite will check in next week, but if it's not Le Meurice, it has Le Bristol a good chance. At least as chic and at least as beloved by fashion girls..
