Kerasilk Keratin treatment by Goldwell

If you are also one of those women who wakes up every morning with extremely frizzy hair, can't control her curls, or suffers from generally exploded hair, there is a solution. Goldwell has the Kerasilk Keratin Treatment that makes your hair feel like silk for five months, so you no longer have to deal with that kind of hassle. It is my task, or rather my honor, to undergo the treatment and tell you all about it.

Now, I certainly don't want to call my hair unmanageable. I have a few stray curls here and there, which look more like a kind of baby frizz, but otherwise, I find it quite radiant and healthy. Still, I use the straightener almost every morning to pull those loose curls at the front tight, so that keratin treatment comes in handy.

Since my own messy beach look was anyway a thing of the past, I decided to go for a radical change right away: a fringe.

For the treatment, I took a seat in a chair at The Building AMS. You need to take your time for this because you will be there for about three hours. Your hair is first washed and then blow-dried, so it is clean and the products can do their job well. Then the so-called KeraShape Technology comes into play, which allows for an individual treatment with the 2-component system. Depending on your wishes and hair needs, the treatment is tailored. So if you have a huge mane of curls and you want straight hair, the shape change will be more intense. If you already have straight hair, this will be less intense.

Strand by strand, the pleasantly scented (fresh! fruity!) substance is applied with a brush and left on for a quarter of an hour. After that, the hair is completely blow-dried and the special straightener is taken in hand. The temperature of the straightener is specially adjusted to the hair structure and anchors the KeraShape Technology in the hair. With smoothing ‘glyoxylic acid’ and nourishing keratin and silk proteins, it penetrates the hair and forms new keratin bridges there. These new keratin bridges stabilize the shape of the hair for up to 5 months. It's a bit of a technical story, but it boils down to this: smooth, shiny, and straight locks.

After straightening, the hair is washed again and styled. Because my own messy beach look was anyway a thing of the past, I decided to go for a radical change right away: a fringe. From now on, I will go through life with a completely new haircut. I am also definitely happy with the treatment. My hair shines like never before, and in the morning I spend much less time blow-drying. I was a bit afraid of lifeless hair, but it turns out to be just fine, as it still has the volume it had before. The products for home use help with that of course. I wash my hair with the designated shampoo and conditioner, and occasionally I use the oil for extra shine. Now hoping that I can enjoy this for five months, or even longer.
