Courtney Stodden and Doug Hutchinsons
Well, it now seems like I have an obsession with pathetic men and their child brides (case in point, Peter Jan Rens) but that's not really the case. That said, I would like to introduce you to the phenomenon of Courtney Stodden and Doug Hutchinsons in this Cabinet of Curiosities. Courtney is 19, he is 54, and they got married (!) when she was 16 and he was 51. And there is room here to be shocked by that: [ ]
Yes, are we back? Good, let me first introduce you to Courtney. Because she may be 19, but she looks like a 45-year-old woman desperately trying to look like someone who is, indeed, 19. Courtney has more plastic in her body than Marijke Helwegen and is damn proud of it. Especially her breasts are quite, well, prominent? It's fairly difficult to determine exactly what she does, but Wikipedia refers to her as a “television personality” and that’s also how she describes herself on Twitter. She started her ‘career’ with beauty pageants and soon followed some modeling gigs. She appears in a number of reality series with her husband Doug and in 2013 she participated in the British version of Celebrity Big Brother. There were also some movies, but they are all not noteworthy and critics didn’t even bother to express their reviews.
When Courtney is 16, she signs up for an acting workshop by Doug Hutchinsons. Doug is not necessarily an unsuccessful actor; he played an impressive role in The Green Mile and had a recurring character in the series Lost. Okay, I admit all his roles have a certain dark side, but still, he did quite well. Until that acting course where Courtney walked in. He didn’t realize she was a teenager (which is quite understandable since she looks more like 45 than 19) and through chatting and emails, they fell in love in about 5 months, even before they had seen each other again. Now, his family and agency dropped him immediately when the relationship became public, her mother found it all quite acceptable. You should know, that mother is the type who has totally failed in life herself and projects all her frustrations onto her daughter. So a medium successful actor wanting to be with her completely talentless daughter, fine by her!
And so it happened. Doug and Courtney got married, with legal permission from her monster mother. But oh oh, no one saw this coming, after 2.5 years of marriage they separated again. As friends of course, but the age difference turned out to be a bit of an issue. Maybe the crazy wild BFF of Courtney was also a bit too much of a good thing, or maybe the fact that Courtney only wears dresses that fit about 1 nipple, or that she always wears shoes of 38 centimeters and can't walk in them.
But whatever it was, it wasn't enough to keep the divorce final because about nine months after the breakup, they are back together! And so, all's well that ends well. And come on, isn't it a lovely couple?
