At the time of writing, I am in the restaurant of our hotel. To my left a green tea and to my right yogurt with fresh fruit and granola.
This afternoon is the Burberry show and since Olivia Palermo is staying in OUR hotel and she is definitely going there, Liesbeth is sitting upright with her face towards the lobby so we can't miss her when she goes outside. I have my camera ready. Lies is dressed to kill 24/7, make-up good, hair good, everything, to take the best photo ever with her.
Saturday night London
Sacha, Liesbeth's friend who has been living in London for a year, invited us to restaurant Jak’s, a huge place with many long wooden tables, all different chairs, benches, high tables, and an endless long bar with a display where the tastiest things were laid out. Lots of candlelight and a nice jazz band was playing in the corner.
London is dressing up to go out for dinner. Dresses, high heels, and designer bags were flying around me. Outfits in which you would be overdressed very quickly in the Netherlands. Liesbeth and I fully embraced the London etiquette. That means a black leather pencil skirt with a Filippa K blouse and L.K. Bennett high heels. I wore black DNA leather pants with a gray top and DVF shoes (high, very high). Yes guys, I go through life here as someone who is 1.90.
We all shared a pizza, sea bass, and grilled vegetables. After that, we took a taxi to Bart’s. A cocktail bar in an incredibly ugly hotel, you wouldn't guess that one of the trendiest bars in the city is located there. So you also have to be some kind of member, know people, something like that. Luckily, that was the case.
Sunday, busy day
I got up early to show off a bit in the GYMBOX. A gigantic hotel gym, where I was lost in no time and stood among incredibly anabolic guys who looked at me strangely. I quickly found my way to the cardio. A bit of running, cross-training, and floor exercises.
Have you seen the show of Top Shop was on the agenda because everyone really goes there, so we did too. Unfortunately, we didn't have a ticket, but there was plenty to see at the entrance. Film cameras, photo cameras, iPhone, everything to capture cool people, the report will follow soon.
Chaaaaos
I should be happy that I still have all my arms and legs. This morning I discovered some bruises on my body and that could be from all the pushing and pulling. Goodness, those real die hard paparazzo photographers are incredible beasts. Everyone wants the best photo of Anna Wintour or Daisy Lowe and there was quite a bit of violence involved. Liesbeth and I didn't let ourselves be intimidated and scored quite well. We walked away last so we couldn't miss anyone. Cara, Olivia, and The Man Repeller were present, we saw on Instagram, but not spotted. Probably a setback.
Time for Lunch
And we did that at Jamie Oliver. My hero, maybe also my ideal man. But anyway, that aside. Crab, bruschetta, squid, and marinated vegetables. By the way, it was already four o'clock, a glass of Pinot Grigio. We opened our laptops to immediately report on the TopShop hysteria.
Sushi Samba Baby
We swapped our sneakers for high heels. Lies finally got to wear her Gucci dress with golden Louboutins underneath. I wore a new dress from Iris & Ink. We had a table booked at SushiSamba. On the 37st floor with the most beautiful view, we ordered a glass of champagne and ate black cod. Holy moly, how we would have wanted to order ten portions of that. After that, we felt like having one more glass at Hakkasan, so we did. At midnight, we got out of the taxi at our hotel. You didn't expect that from us, did you?
Now on to Burberry, Keep you posted!
