Although it was Maundy Thursday yesterday (although I wonder if anyone still knows what that means), I found this pure outfit a perfect look to kick off the weekend. Sophie van der Stap sent it from Beijing where her sister lives who just gave birth to her third child. A nice bonus was a dinner that Sophie had this week with her Chinese publisher who handed her the Chinese version of The Girl with the Nine Wigs that has just been released here. As if that wasn't enough, the film adaptation of her book is heading to the Shanghai Film Festival, so Sophie is attaching a film promotion and book tour to it. She does this, as we are used to from her, with class and style.
She bought the pants at the marche aux puces in Paris because Sophie is really into wide satin pants at the moment. She had the blouse made by a tailor in Beirut, and she snatched the sweater from her beloved's closet. It's such a nice wool that he won't be getting it back anytime soon. The necklace is a vintage piece from the collection of Ferry van der Nat from the amazing store Het Kabinet. The shoes, finally, are from Manolo Blahnik. Sophie, Sophie, you do it so wonderfully again.
