Look, this is Afke Boven. She is one of our correspondents in Northern Netherlands. Born in the Frisian town of Dokkum, raised on Ameland and having taken a detour via Amsterdam to end up in Drenthe. As a freelance journalist, she drives week in and week out through the northern provinces. Of course, with all her senses on high alert so she can provide us with a lot of great hotspots and looks that no one should miss.
‘The dress from Vila literally jumped off the racks of a shop-in-lunch concept. The salad ended up being a bit more expensive because of that, but hey, what do you do in such a case of force majeure? The tights are from Hema and the ankle boots are from Cinderella. As you might expect from red shoes, you can easily dance the whole night in them. I found the doctor’s bag in a tiny shop in Utrecht. As for jewelry, I usually keep it simple. My bracelets are souvenirs from two amazing vacations in respectively America and Aruba, and the Diesel watch I kept from a summer in New York. One ring is an heirloom and the other was slipped onto my finger last summer in Ameland.”
