You have Charlene maybe seen her pass by once. In the summer she worked with us for a while to replace the holidaymaker here. Starting this week, she is working full-time with us and is mainly focusing on the English site. And to learn a little more about her, let's take a look in her bag.

How many bags do you have?

“Definitely about 20. But there are always only 4 in use.”

How did you get this beauty?

“Ordered from the Cambridge Satchel Company. When I decided to go for an old-fashioned school bag, it had to be an original.”

What does a bag mean to you?

“A bag carries my stuff. No, that's a bit lame. I really like bags. I love to wander and dream in the bag section of a Barneys or Harvey Nichols, but in practice, a bag isn't necessarily sacred to me. It does need to be beautiful and real (leather), but I expect that from almost everything I buy.”

And with a woman?

“I think a beautiful bag can make a woman very happy simply because you use it every day and it becomes part of your outfit every day.‘

Honestly, are you a bit careful with it or do you throw it in a corner or do they all sit on a shelf with dust bags?

“Unfortunately, I'm not careful. If I look at my bag now, it's lying on the ground tipped over.”

What about the contents? Are you a chaotic person or neatly organized?

“Totally chaotic. Until the mess really becomes unmanageable, I often grab another empty bag and the misery starts all over again.”

What do you always carry in your bag?

“Phone, wallet, planner and notebook, lip stuff and countless other trinkets.”

Do you notice that more doors open with a designer bag?

“A designer bag is like a nice watch or an expensive car, a status symbol and sometimes a testament to good taste. Both of those things can open doors.”

If you could only have one bag, which would it be?

The Hermès Kelly Bag

Do you prefer trendy or classic? And does a bag also need to be practical?

‘Trendy is the last stage before tacky’, is a quote from Karl Lagerfeld that I gladly agree with. It's very nice when a bag is practical, yet I have quite a few beautiful but rather impractical pieces in the closet.”

And lastly, is there another one on your wishlist? Which one?

“Chanel, Mulberry, Saint Laurent and Valentino have all have bags that I would like to have. But under the pretext of ‘the possession of the item is the end of the fun’, I will probably enjoy them for a long time.”
