In love with Herieth

Backstage at Tibi, I saw Herieth Paul. One of the many dark models who colored the runways of New York with their beauty. Just seeing her back left me beautystruck. And what amazing clothes she was wearing. A vintage fur from Givenchy that she bought at (coincidentally also my favorite) the most beautiful thrift store near Faubourg St Honoré in Paris. She had the same matelassé from Chanel as I did, so that created a bond. Herieth is from Tanzania and is being called the new Naomi Campbell. She once had long hair, but when she cut it off rigorously, she broke through. In New York, she walked until her little feet were sore because DKNY, Helmut Lang, Tanya Taylor, Suno, Tibi, Derek Lam, Thakoon, House of Herra, and Zac Posen all booked Herieth.

Her biggest source of inspiration? Her mother. She is 50 but looks like 20, according to the proud daughter. To complete the packing process, Harieth looked at my outfit and said: ”We have a bit of the same style. Only you are much more classy.” That was the final blow. I am in love.
