OPENING PRADA BOUTIQUE

The buzz about the new Prada boutique that was set to open in P.C. Hooftstraat had been buzzing through the city for a while. It’s Prada baby! Since July 31, you could already go there for fine Prada stuff, but since Thursday evening the store has been ‘officially’ opened, as in, there was champagne, music, a nice guest list, and together we drank the store open.

About 5 hours after I landed at Schiphol from New York Fashion Week I hopped on my bike towards P.C. Hooft. Jet was already waiting for me and since we hadn’t seen each other for at least a week and a half, this opening felt a bit like a reunion. Together we walked inside, grabbed a glass of bubbles, and went exploring in the brand new store. Spread over two floors, you can find the women's ready-to-wear collection and the shoe collection as well as the leather men's and women's accessories.

Among the guests were Bracha van Doesburgh, Eva Simons, Kim van Kooten, and Jan Taminiau, all of course beautifully dressed in Prada. The fashion press was also out in force with Cécile Narinx, Fiona Hering, Hilmar Mulder, Cara Schiffelers, and Karin Kuijpers, and us of course, haha. You know what it is with these kinds of parties, it’s always so damn cozy. You run into everyone again, get champagne from handsome Make My Event guys, there’s nice music playing, and, very importantly, you are surrounded by the most beautiful clothes in the world. What’s not to like!

Anyone who wants a Prada in their closet should head straight to the Amsterdam P.C. Hooftstraat. Just remember to bring your credit card, but hey, Prada is not for a moment, Prada is for life.
