WHERE IS THAT PARTY?
If there is anyone who knows how to throw a bit of a party, it must be Louis Bollee. For a year, he took care of the popular column Schuim in Het Parool, in which he reported every day on the party of the night before. Since this job is quite exhausting, everyone does it for exactly 1 year and then passes the baton to a worthy successor. Yesterday, Louis said goodbye; after 200 parties (!), it is now Iris van Lunenberg's turn to document every important (and less important) party for the coming year. In the former Fortis building on Amsterdam's Rokin, everyone gathered with whom Louis has toasted and celebrated over the past year, and we were there.
Louis invited the “heaviest drinkers of Amsterdam” and unfortunately, he cannot keep his promise that the 42 bottles of Moët et Chandon will not be finished, because heavy drinking is definitely happening. On standing tables, there are champagne flutes with bubble soap and bubble blowers (you get it), the walls are filled with photos from the past year, Warsteiner beer is also being served, hotel The Grand is constantly delivering large platters of cheese, sausage, and bitterballen, and attractive ladies from the IJsboutique are walking around with champagne ice. Together with Jet and armed with a pink Amayzine pop cap, we ask the gathered Louis fans about their own party past. Have you ever woken up next to someone you didn't know? What was your worst hangover? When was the last time you threw up from drinking? You can see these and more in-depth questions in the broadcast in about two weeks (every Saturday at 18:30 on RTL5, but you already knew that) and I will surely reveal that Valerio Zeno once ended up drunk in a bathtub after the MTV Awards and didn't remember which city he was in. And that we have gathered a lot of really good hangover tips from among others Kim van Kooten, Beertje van Beers, Hannah Bervoets, Bastiaan van Schaik, and Marijke Helwegen.
Around 7:00 PM, the party starts to empty out cautiously. People are going home obediently or together with Louis to the afterparty, which undoubtedly went on until very late. We toast to Louis, toast to 200 parties, to 200 party reports, and to the next 200 parties. Pop!
