It feels a bit like a wedding at the end of the soap season. All the protagonists come together. Even those who never meet in daily life are now in the same room. The annual editors' dinner where the Grands Dames (and occasionally a monsieur) from Vogue to Libelle and everything in between (Harper’s Bazar, Cosmopolitan, More than Classic, Marie Claire) come together.
Woosh gone
Of course, we joke about what would happen if the comparison to that soap wedding were taken further and a sea of flames would hit us. Or a rain of bullets or whatever. Then the creative elite would be woosh gone in an instant.
Temptation at its peak
Very quickly we switch back to toasting with our cocktails. Hedonia, you know it. Last night we gathered at the invitation of Philips and we were quite seduced. What I have fallen head over heels in love with is the new Philips fryer, the air fryer. According to the consumer association, it makes some noise. I couldn't care less. You have the tastiest fries without using fat. I ordered it right away. Size zero fries, who wouldn't want that.
Stealing from your neighbor
After that, we headed to the dining room of the beautiful Gemeentelandshuis in Amsterdam. You know it, that petite country house that seems draped around the Amsterdam Ring. Right there we raised our glasses. And poked a fork. Although I must say I almost licked my plate, but I did sneakily poke from my neighbor's plate. I know him well, don't worry about losing decorum.
