ROLL OUT THAT CARPET
With the presentation of the People’s Choice Awards on Wednesday evening, the so-called award season officially started. And here at Amayzine.com we are quite excited about it, because this is definitely the most exciting and glamorous period of the year, where the worlds of music, fashion, and film come together.
In the coming weeks, culminating in the Oscars on March 2, all major award shows will take place, which means red carpets, red carpets, and more red carpets. Not only are the actors and filmmakers tense, but also major designers from Valentino to Raf Simons are on high alert, wondering which A-listers will wear their designs. For a fashion house, having an Angelina Jolie in your dress generates about as much publicity as an average fashion week. Think of Elie Saab, who owes his breakthrough to Halle Berry wearing an evening gown of his design on the night she won her Academy Award.
Designers are willing to do anything to get the stars in their creations. Popular shoe designers like Jimmy Choo, Brian Atwood, and Charlotte Olympia offer the opportunity to get their pumps custom dyed to match the color of your gown. The customer is king, and to think they pay nothing for this.
Speaking of paying nothing; then there's the phenomenon of the swag room. (The most unfair thing you can imagine.) It's enough to scream, we know!
The madness doesn't stop here, of course. There are award season to book hotel packages that include Bentleys with drivers, hairdressers, and makeup artists. Film studios, record labels, and movie stars are tripping over each other to organize insane pre-dinners and afterparties. And we could go on with imaginative little stories about the ins and outs of Hollywood in the coming time. We will definitely do that.
