SELFIE GALORE

Guys, it's getting completely out of hand with those selfies. The internet was already overflowing with duckfaces and subtly shot self-glorifying portraits from above, but it's taking a step further each month. Thanks to Kim K., the ‘belfie’ suddenly became hot; a photo of your own backside, the butt-selfie. This week, everyone suddenly talked about the “stemfie” because it turned out that taking selfies while voting was perfectly allowed. In fact, the first line of the voting booth protocol states, “it is allowed to take selfies in the voting booth.” But this week, a study came out that really made my ears perk up. Nu.nl headlined with ‘more and more people are taking selfies during sex.’ Well, you could see that coming. Now, there's nothing new about photographing or filming yourself and your partner during the act, and even uploading that material to the internet is an old and familiar practice, sometimes even quite handy to give your career an extra boost. Paris Hilton, Kim K. (there she is again) and even Samantha Jones in Sex And The City made a sex tape with Smith – and that was back in 2004. But now ‘ordinary' people are doing it too. The study was conducted among 74,000 people worldwide, and over 60% of men compared to 51% of women indicated they had ever taken a sex selfie. The Brits lead the way, with 71% and 69% respectively. Can we take it a step further? There is also a Twitter account created to share these selfies, and that is, uh, quite intense. I believe I can't handle actually linking to that, but anyone who Googles it will find it within two seconds. Just be careful; it is absolutely not safe for work. Or, in internet language, NSFW.
