SEXY SONG FOR SEXY TIME
In the program De Social Club by BNN, the presenters search for striking, inspiring, and absurd stories within their own network of online friends. This week, Gwen Poorten (recently with us on Thank God It’s Friday) tackles the question, “which music is perfect for during sex?” An important question because with a nice tune, even the most mind-numbing sexual encounter can still seem quite enjoyable. In the program, Gwen enters the studio with Edison winner Jett Rebel to produce the ultimate sex record. It should be a record that covers all aspects of sex, according to Gwen. That’s all well and good, but there are plenty of existing songs that also do prrrrima in the bedroom. For this Sexy Friday, I set up an anonymous suggestion box on my desk where my colleagues could deposit their ultimate sexy-time music. Or well, that was the idea, but everyone just cheerfully shouted it out across the entire editorial team, with the songs being turned up just as loudly. Women who sit together in an editorial team day in and day out know little shame. But back to the matter at hand. Here is our sexy time list and, may it bring you much pleasure.
- Kind of Blue by Miles Davis. “Good for sex and childbirth.”
- Whitney Houston. “Only in case of severe intoxication.”
- Bump ’n Grind by R. Kelly. “That song screams for sex. It starts very slowly and then gets faster, so yeah, haha, well, ideal.”
- Difference by Ginuwine. “I’m ready to go by the intro.”
- Dive In by Trey Songz. “Just the title alone…”
- Birthday Sex by Jeremih. “A boy with cake and candles who plays this song with his shirt off and then gives you a, eh, birthday present. I’m in.”
- Ready For Your Love (capella) by MNEK. “Room full of candles, slowly undressing each other and starting a very long evening of making love. This is the ideal song for that.”
- Freak me by Another Level. “This song tells exactly what a guy should do with you.”
- Everything by Boys II Men. “Doesn’t matter which song, they only made sex songs.”
- Novacane by Frank Ocean. “The lyrics, that voice, bring it on.”
- Sex Therapy by Robin Thicke. “Yesss this song really can’t be missing!” (The respective editor snaps her fingers and bites her lips, we’ll just leave her alone for a bit.)
