Shoesale, this is how you keep your head cool

As I type this, I'm still panting from a quick visit to the PC Hooftstraat.

At 12 o'clock, Shoebaloo started its sale and since it’s never disappointing, we were at the door by 12:10. Panting, drooling, and salivating.

To avoid leaving the store completely bent over and ribless, you need to keep the following things in mind.

Grab your size

Leco always says: “During the sale, my size varies from 39 to 42.5. I make sure it fits and untangle my toes with cream rinse.” I’ve tried that theory too, but if shoes don’t fit, you don’t wear them. Then it’s just incredibly fun closet candy, but €300 is still a lot of money for something you don’t wear.

Do something crazy

The shoe sale is perfect for jumping ‘out of the shoebox’. Those Fendi ankle boots with a touch of fun fur and the little face on them, those embellished Dolce & Gabbana boots. At full price, it might be a bit too bold for you, but at half the price… I urge you to jump out of your comfort zone. You won’t regret it.

 Look for an addition

This ties in with the above, but take a critical look through your closet beforehand and see which shoes need replacing. I almost ate my Marc by Marc Jacobs ankle boots and really needed something new. So I set aside those over-the-top Alaïas, because over-the-top is already covered, and I chose these practical Aquazurras.

 Don’t get carried away

Don’t just look at how much the shoes are discounted. Also take a look at what’s on the price tag. And ask yourself if you would have paid the full amount for the shoe. Probably not, otherwise you wouldn’t be here, but I want to remind you not to get carried away by the sale. Keep your feet on the ground, no matter how high those fantastic heels are.

Happy Shopping!
