Last night I dreamed about Diane von Furstenberg. We drank rosé with crushed ice (I thought it was quite a nice idea of myself to come up with that in my sleep, I’ll have to try it out this afternoon), we talked about TV and men (I think Diane has such a delightful love curriculum, I want to know everything about it) and then we were brought home by yacht that had been hoisted onto a truck through New York. I to my hotel in Greenwich, she to her studio above the DvF headquarters in Meatpacking District.

The yacht on a truck might be a bit far-fetched but everything else could have taken place just fine. Diane von Furstenberg combines her charming European roots with the anything-is-possible mentality of a New Yorker. Want to arrange something with Diane at extremely short notice and she thinks it’s a good idea? Then a phone call with her fantastic communication agency might just be enough.

Diane is fashion royalty with a touch of mischief. You knew that the USP of her wrap dress is that you can put it on without waking up that sleeping man in the hotel bed next to you. No complicated zippers and fuss, just slip it on and go. On to a new adventure.
