Rick Owens is not averse to a bit of controversy. Last fashion week, he brought Real Women from The Bronx and pushed them onto the catwalk. His anti-statement led to mixed reactions. Some praised him for his message, while others choked on their champagne at the sight of so much flesh and so little catwalk experience. At the men's shows yesterday in Paris, Rick again sought the edge. His models were sometimes a cross between a nun and a viking, and then again utterly sexy with their long, straight hair. The clothing was, as always, of a refined toughness that only Rick Owens can achieve.
