Her weekend actually started yesterday and that happened with champagne, because there is something to celebrate. Let's ask what she is going to do for the rest of the weekend and if there are also some competitive jitters. We women can have that too, right?
Almost weekend! Have you had a busy week?
‘For me, it's already the weekend, because I'm off every Friday. But yes, it's not normal! I've had such a busy and hectic week behind me. Beauty presentations, styling for beauty photography, premiere of Transformers 4, and cooking for colleagues who came over for dinner. That kind of stuff.’
When do you kick off the weekend today? And what does that look like?
‘My weekend actually started yesterday, with super big and exciting news, about which I can tell you everything next week. So I'm kicking off the weekend with champagne, because there's a lot to celebrate. And this afternoon I had lunch with former colleagues at a place I hadn't been to before, Buffet van Odette on the Prinsengracht. Very nice and delicious.’
What is your favorite weekend outfit?
‘Black skinny denim, black loose t-shirt, and black Roshe Run Nikes. Oh dear, quite dark, right? But I just always feel the best in black clothing. I got that from my father.’
Honestly. Are you a bit nervous for the football tomorrow or does that not interest you much? And are you wearing something orange?
‘I am incredibly nervous. If I didn't have so much to do today, I would be pacing around all day. I'm not wearing orange, because I don't have any, but I will go all out with a headband with hysterical red, white, blue, and orange feathers attached, flag cheeks, and orange lipstick.’
What do you do on Sunday?
‘On Sunday, I might go to the park with my son – it depends a bit on the weather. And I need to work on two interviews with two lovely well-known brands for QUARTER magazine. Not too bad then.’
What does your ideal Sunday look like? Anything goes!
‘Hanging on the couch all day in my bathrobe and starting a new series (marathon). Together with my boyfriend. And of course, my son, who will then crawl all over the living room.‘
You work at Beau Monde, run your own site Quarter Magazine, and are a mother. Where do you find peace, time, and inspiration?
‘I owe a lot to my boyfriend, he has a calm personality and is always my support and refuge, source of inspiration, and at the same time my best buddy. I draw other inspiration from the inspiring people around me, fun websites, watching a lot of television, and foreign magazines.’
What kind of music do you listen to on the weekend?
‘I have a varied taste. My Sunday goes from Michael Prins to Lenny Kravitz and from Alain Clark to Gloria Estefan, Otis Redding, and Al Green. But my favorite is my Motown collection!’
What do you have in your glass with this warm weather?
‘Preferably an ice-cold gin and tonic. But I also get very happy from Diet Coke with a slice of lemon or Spa red. Also with a slice of lemon.’
What time does your alarm clock go off again on Monday?
‘Not too bad, seven o'clock.’
