Amayzine

She has been Miss Netherlands for almost a year now and hopes to advance to the highest modeling echelon in December; Miss World. Just for everyone who might have forgotten, Miss Universe is American and involves bikinis, Miss World is British and more reserved and a bit more civilized. If it were up to Tatjana, the Netherlands would be the winner of an international contest on December 14. “What am I looking forward to? Standing on stage and having the Miss World crown placed on my head.” Clear language.

At the moment, there is little talk of weekends in Tatjana's life. Sports, interviews, and photo shoots are constantly strung together. “The Miss World consists of many rounds that I need to prepare for as best as I can. For example, during the sports round, I have to do a sport but I don't know which one yet, so I have to be prepared for everything. I've practiced almost all the sports already, now just tennis and golf.”

There is also a talent round on the menu where Tatjana will sing and dance, a charity round (because Miss Worlds love world peace) and a top model round. “It’s incredibly busy, but how often does it happen that you travel through England for almost a month with women from 128 countries experiencing all of this. I expect to come away with special friendships.”

But about your weekend, what time does that start and do you have something with alcohol and a little umbrella in your hand?

“No and no. There is little talk of weekends and I don't drink alcohol, at most a non-alcoholic cocktail but in practice mostly liters of tea, which I love. Today I first had a photo shoot for Bas van Schaik's site and later I'm going to eat with a friend. Where, I don't know yet, I like everything and find it fun everywhere so I always let my dining companion choose. When we're done eating, I write for my blog; dancyfood.nl.”

How does Saturday look?

First, I'm going to run a peace race at the Peace Palace in The Hague, it's only five kilometers so that should be doable with a smile. After that, I have a fashion event in Amsterdam and then back to the computer to work on my blog. Sunday actually looks the same. First a fashion event and in the evening I'm on the radio at Slam FM.

 No moment of rest?

“Well, after that race I can take an hour to catch my breath. That’s always a lovely moment, like; yes, I did it again. And if I can, I flop down with friends in front of the TV to watch a movie. Tea and tasty snacks on the side and lots of laughter. Because I don’t have many relaxation moments, I prefer to choose a comedy or some other light entertainment.“

What music does Miss Netherlands listen to?

“I’m a huge fan of Sam Smith's album. Furthermore, I go in all directions, from house and rock when I’m exercising to R&B and hip-hop in the car.“

Finally, what is your ideal weekend outfit?

I prefer to wear lots of glitter and tulle, those poufy dresses or I have an opposite look with a leather jacket, jeans, and motorcycle boots. But if I have a day when I don’t have to leave the house, you can picture me in my Onepiece.“
