I see Micha (founder and director of Micha Models) in jeans and a white T-shirt on a terrace opposite her house on Amsterdam's Koninginneweg. In an hour, another appointment is on the way, but for now, she has a moment of sun, peace, and a light cola. Because you are busy with it when one of your models has walked the most shows of all models in the world.

 How was the month?

“Bizarre. I went to New York with Maartje (Verhoef) and Lieke (Van Houten) and in Paris with Maartje. During the shows in London and Milan, I was in the Netherlands, but then you are of course constantly on the phone with casting directors. Making sure they can go to bed on time and so on. Because if you don't intervene, a fitting can easily last until half past three at night, and it is expected that they appear fresh again at half past six. That can't be done, especially not with a girl who just turned 17. Meanwhile, the work with the other girls who weren't walking shows just continued. And did I mention that we are in the middle of a renovation? ’

Maartje is at the top of the runway ranking on models.com. Of all, ALL, ALL models, she walked the most shows. How is that for you?

“Fantastic of course, what we are experiencing now is unique. But it is important to stay grounded because the modeling world is unpredictable. You only walk a show when you actually walk it, I always tell my girls. Something can always happen that usually has nothing to do with you, which is why you sometimes don't walk a show. You have to be able to handle that, and that's an important task for me as an agent. “

What was another moment you were proud of?

Anna Roos was exclusively booked for Céline, and when she was allowed to go back to her hotel without trying anything on during a fitting (dress rehearsal), she was a bit scared that she wouldn't walk the show after all. I called the casting director, and it turned out that Phoebe Philo (the designer of Céline) wasn't feeling well and had gone back to her hotel. That's why Anna Roos wasn't needed for a moment. Of course, she ended up walking the show. That's how it goes.”

And what time does your weekend start?

“At four o'clock this afternoon. Then I'm sitting with my good friend Pedro Dias on the terrace in the inner garden of Het Conservatorium Hotel. With a glass of champagne. To toast to success.”

And afterwards, will it be wild and crazy?

“Not at all, after all those weeks of being out, I want to be with my family tonight. We're going to cook ourselves, I think Steak Béarnaise, and a good bottle of red wine will be opened. On Sunday, Sander (Emmering, director of Eyeworks and husband, MM) is going abroad again, so we are really enjoying an evening together.”

 And Saturday?

“Football. At 08:30 away against Purmerend. Haha. So far for the glamour. In the afternoon, I have a baby shower for my best friend Eline Heremans, and afterwards, we are having dinner at the Utrechtsedwarstafel with friends. It’s supposed to be very good, I’m curious.’

What is being read and watched at the Emmering household?

“On the plane, I saw The Fault in Our Stars come by. A tearjerker, so not really a good idea to watch with a bunch of strangers around you, so that's on the menu for this weekend. On Saturday morning, I read Het Parool. Furthermore, it's mainly about taking a break, reflecting, and enjoying because on Monday the phone will be ringing again, of course.”
