The 4 best places for wine and cheese in Paris
I have been looking forward to this weekend for days. Tomorrow I will get in the car to Paris. My favorite city. I speak the language, I know my way around, and I love French cuisine.
You will be overwhelmed by my tips on healthy eating, and you won't often catch me with a bag of candy. Here at the editorial office, they sometimes go crazy from me and my unroasted nuts. A platter of French cheese wouldn't fit into my regime, you would think, but man oh man, if I had to choose one thing I could eat in my life, it would be that. Even the giant stinkers and the blue molds. And all that accompanied by a glass, preferably chilled, red wine of course. You can't make me happier, and that's exactly what I'm going to do every day this weekend. “Une plateau du fromage et un verre de vin rouge, s’il vous plaît.”.
And yesss, the next day I will jog four laps through Jardin de Luxembourg.
With anticipation, I present the 4 most fun places for cheese and red wine. Preferably outside on the terrace under a heater or wearing a thick sweater.
You haven't really been to Paris if you haven't sat on a terrace there. Just put me there for a whole day and you won't hear from me again. Models, writers, musicians, everyone is there. Make sure you are not in the conservatory, so either outside or inside the establishment. A Parisian does not do conservatories.
172, Boulevard Saint GermainWalk twenty meters further and there is Les Deux Magots, actually the same as Café de Flore, but a bit more of a tourist spot. Not less fun though.
6, Place Saint Germain des PresAt typically small French tables where you are almost sitting on your neighbor's lap. Delicious fresh bread, wine, and cheese. And a nice selection of lovely French people passing by.
28, Rue Vieille du TempleYou are around the corner from Rue saint honoré and for something sweet, just walk 100 meters further into Ladurée. The staff loves to be very quick (great when you are really craving that glass) and is very nice.
1, Rue Tronchet Paris
