When I read that Jennifer Aniston she had drunk breast milk, I immediately thought it was just another one of her crazy beauty rituals. This turned out not to be the case (she just wanted to taste it once and found it milky-coconut-ish) but it did make me think of all those other curious treatments that have come my way over the years.

A glass of red wine in the bath

Who does it? Terry Hatcher

What does it do? The tartaric acid would with a tonic you close the pores again so that dirt can't get in again. soften.

And, does it work? Mwah, you would need to pour a few bottles of wine into your bath for it to have any effect. Then you would have to scrub for a few hours to get your bath white again. I would say, drink a glass, according to Jetske Ultee it's also good for the skin.

Cat litter as a scrub

Who does it? Snooki, it must be said, she has a shiny little skin

What does it do? The granules would exfoliate the top layer of your skin.

And, does it work? Well… it seems a bit too coarse to us. If you prefer something from your kitchen cupboard over an exfoliant from a real cosmetic brand, then take some coarse salt to scrub with but hey, treat yourself. There are really nice beauty products developed for that.

Beer as a conditioner

Who does it? Catherina Zeta Jones rinses her washed hair with a pipe of beer.

What does it do? The alcohol removes the layer of dirt from your hair.

And, does it work a bit? Yes, it works. Let it sit for five minutes and then rinse well. Because alcohol is alcohol, I would leave that pipe of beer nice and cold in the fridge for your loved one or the neighbor and treat your hair with a nice champagne. Only the best of the best is good enough for you, right?

Toothpaste on a pimple

Who does it? Who doesn't? But Jennifer Love Hewitt admits to it.

What does it do? Toothpaste on the skin has a huge drying effect.

And, does it work a bit? Like crazy, and actually too much. It dries your skin out so much that it will panic and produce even more oil. Resulting in, yes, even more pimples.

Lip gloss as a highlighter

What does it do? The greasy lip gloss gives an instant shine on the spots you want to highlight.

And, does it work? Yes, just make sure to use a not too greasy gloss because then it looks a bit much. Ideal for your chihuahua evening bag, a gloss, blush, and highlighter in one.
